Members of the Inner Circle should be familiar with the membership letter that Tracey Orr used successfully to sell memberships to her beauty salon and that Craig Whitley modified (not very much I should mention) for his salon, Storm Hair. In his words:

"I sent this letter to 1,222 of my clients on Tuesday, August 15. Four days later, I'd sold $9,000 worth of membership packages. By MONDAY - less than a week after putting the letters in the post - I'd sold $14,000 worth. And they're STILL coming in."

Members can find it in their toolkit and at http://www.salon-marketing-secrets.com/articles.php?a=read&aid=73

Hi, I have tried unlimited hair package and its been great advertising for the salon. I sent out 300 letters to test the waters and had $7000 in less than 3 months. Now i'll get serious, it works!

Hi Jennifer,
Please forgive my ignorance, but I would also like to know what an unlimited hair package is and how it works.

Would you be kind enough to explain it to me?

Thanks

Not sure about the unlimited packages. But at Sydney Super Conference last year I walked up to Greg and asked him if I need to make $10,000 in the next 2 weeks how do I go about it and he immediately said memberships. It took me 2 weeks to get them out and I only sent them to only 330 clients and within 2 weeks we have made $14.000.....I was totally blown away.

In January I did a mini membership offer in my newsletter and we sold 16 of them....certainly helped put so extra cash in the till at one of the quietest times of the year

So if you have the tool kit check out the membership letters. This year I will be sending it out in August to our whole data base.........cant wait to see the results on that one.

To those wanting to know what an "unlimited hair package" is.

Basically it refers to selling a package, call it a membership, that offers hair services (not usually products) anytime they want them for a limited amount of time. For this service they would pay an amount upfront.

You might run a membership for 3 months and include in this membership 4 colour treatments, 4 wash, cut and drys, 4 additional wash and drys and 4 conditioning treatments. Total value may be $1,400 and you sell the membership for 1 payment of $1,000 (all figures are examples only).

Of course you need to do your own maths and see what could work for you. If it's a great offer then it could result in cash into the salon quickly. It's usually promoted to your existing client base.
