Website costs

We are looking for advice on building a new website. We want to be able to sell our products and gift vouchers on line, manage SMS marketing, E marketing . Basically we are wanting a website that makes us money while we sleep. Has anyone recently had a new website built similar, and what did it cost. I would like an idea before I start getting quotes etc.

Hi Brenda,

In a previous business that I had I paid for a website 3 times. The first time cost me $5,000 and it didn't make any money. The second one cost me $1,000 and it started to make me some money.

The third one cost me $2,000 and new business started to trickle in. I continued to spend money on it (quite a sum) and it ended up generating 23% of my turnover. That was over $200,000 of revenue in a 12 month period and it came from a source that I would not have been exposed to if I did not have a website... so it was additional business to me.

So how much would I pay for a website? Whatever it takes!
